Key points from Friday’s call and what we did over the past week.

This week, Lang gave us updates from Token2049 and we announced the winners of the Meme Contest.

Hello again Ambros, and welcome to this edition of our weekly Town Hall recap! Well, after a short reprieve, it seems the crypto bear market will carry on a little while longer. While AMB isn’t immune to these negative conditions, we did get some exciting new information from our CEO on Friday. Lang managed to join the Town Hall from Singapore, where he had a busy week at the massive Token2049 crypto conference. He gave us some updates on his networking and fundraising efforts for AirDAO, and also on what his schedule will look like over the next couple weeks. So without further ado, let’s get into the details.

  • After arriving in Singapore and attending the first pre-conference social events on September 24, Lang spent the past week meeting and interacting with representatives from hundreds of prominent crypto companies and VCs. He noted that he’s had valuable discussions with 40–50 different projects and funds, and that there is strong interest from many of these in either launching on or migrating to AirDAO’s. Lang expects to be able to share some updates on this in the next 2–3 weeks, but he cannot disclose the parties currently being negotiated with.
  • Also while at Token2049, Lang had the opportunity to meet with the core Binance team and our personal account managers. He has been working to secure integration for AMB with Binance Connect, which will allow people to buy AMB tokens with fiat through the AirDAO website. Lang also met with members from DWF Labs, describing them as very professional. He mentioned that they have a large Chinese and Singaporean team and will be looking to help us build a strong community and userbase in Southeast Asia. Once Token 2049 has concluded, Lang will travel to Dubai where he will continue AirDAO fundraising efforts — he already has several investor meetings lined up.
  • Lena shared that based on our analytics, the AirDAO website has had over 30,000 users so far. This is nearly 5x the average traffic of our previous website over similar time periods. With the massive influx of members from Binance listings and our own marketing efforts, we also easily hit our community growth goals for September. In the past week, Lena and Kevin had a call with DWF’s marketing team to coordinate strategy and set up collaboration going forward. Also, we have begun creating translations for the website, with the first languages being Chinese, Spanish, and Turkish. Finally, we are recording instructional videos for staking and for the other products on our website. We expect these to start being released next week.
  • Wednesday marked the end of our first-ever AirDAO Meme Contest, and it was a huge success! We received over 250 submissions featuring some very memorable memes from dozens and dozens of creators. The winners of the 100,000 AMB were decided by community vote at the end of the Town Hall and announced on Twitter, and the prizes for these individuals were sent out earlier today. Thank you to all who participated!

Some other items of note:

  • On Wednesday, we had an AMA with the Turkish crypto influencer group Kripto Tutlunkari. Due to a scheduling conflict, Kevin was able to step in and did an excellent job providing informative responses to the group’s questions. We understand that the recent changes in the project haven’t been clearly understood by some individuals, so we definitely appreciate opportunities like this to share this info with new groups. It is important for us to continue to provide clarity about what’s going on and the exciting things we are doing now and moving forward. We’d like to thank Kripto Tutlunkari for hosting us and also thank our partners from CoinNet for helping organize this event.
  • Lang disclosed a prospective deal this past week that he and our financial analyst Rory walked away from. They received a $20m offer from a VC where the fund would’ve received their tokens immediately. Lang turned it down. He knew this sort of deal would put the community and the health of the token at risk, and because of this, he made the decision to decline the offer. Lang reiterated that, as demonstrated by this and his rejection of the $5m offer from DWF, he will not enter into investment agreements that are against the interests of the AirDAO community. He concluded by saying that the community is not just the users, the holders, the builders, or the investors. It is the team as well — it is all of us.
  • One fun piece of info that Lang provided us with is that he has begun to make crypto-related TikToks. This way, he can help introduce the public to Web3 and AirDAO in a more entertaining, approachable way. He shared the link to his first TikTok with us and will be releasing other TikTok videos soon. This is a very unique way of accessing users we might not be able to otherwise, and can also bring some enjoyment to people while doing so.

Wow! This was a very detail-heavy Town Hall, but it’s great that so much info was able to be shared. As noted in the first point above, we hope to be able to provide some exciting updates in the coming weeks and to begin onboarding projects to AirDAO and creating more real value in the AMB ecosystem. Until next time, thanks for reading Ambros, and have a wonderful rest of your week!
